This describes what Stream Chat Generator (streamchatgenerator.com), operated by John Manion in Honolulu, Hawaii, collects and why. It is short because the Service collects little.
Your account. Your email address, when the account was made, when you last signed in, your plan, your usage this period, and a Stripe customer reference. If you sign in with Google or Apple we also store the identifier that provider gives us for you, so the account still works if you change your email address. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only ever hold the relay address.
Sessions. A hashed session token, its timestamps, and your browser's user-agent string, so you can see and end your signed-in devices.
Email sign-in links. A hashed token, your address, and the IP address it was requested from. The IP is used solely to rate-limit sign-in requests and is not used to profile you.
Your video. Modern browsers can do the whole job on your own device, and when yours can, the video file is never uploaded. It is opened locally, the finished video is produced locally, and the only things sent to us are its soundtrack as low-quality audio, so we can transcribe what is said, and one small still frame so the chat can be about what is actually on screen. Both are deleted on the same timer as everything else, normally 12 hours.
If your browser is too old to do that, the video is uploaded so we can render it for you. It is then stored only while it is being worked on and deleted on a timer, normally 12 hours. We do not keep a copy and we do not look at it except as needed to produce your result.
We do not collect your name, address, date of birth, phone number, location, or contacts, and we do not run analytics.
One cookie, sc_sess. It holds your session, is
HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, and exists only to
keep you signed in. It is strictly necessary, so there is no consent
banner and nothing to opt out of. We set no advertising or analytics
cookies.
Only these, and only for what each is named for:
Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple tell us your identifier and your email address; they do not receive your videos or anything you make. Some of these providers are in the United States, so your data may be processed there.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

You can sign out of one device or all of them from your account. You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it — email contact@streamchatgenerator.com and we will action it within 30 days. Deleting your account cancels any subscription; billing records that tax law requires us to keep will remain with Stripe.
If you are in the UK, EU, or a US state with a privacy statute, you have these rights by law and we apply them to everyone regardless of where you are. Our legal basis for processing is performance of the contract you entered into, plus our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of sign-in.
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Session and sign-in tokens are stored hashed, never in the clear. Access to the server is restricted to the operator. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not hold much worth stealing: no card numbers, no passwords, and no video after a few hours.
The Service is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
If this policy changes materially we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect, and the date above will change.
